Key Verses: Is.9:6-7; Jn.14:27;Col.1:19-20;Rom. 5:1-2;Phil. 4:6-7;Eph.4:1-6
I. Worldly Peace
- humanity's effort through meditation, nature walks, finances, use of war to establish peace, etc.
- appeal to the outward senses/flesh – “to feel at peace” / temporary
II. God’s Heavenly Peace
- based on one’s POSITION with God as reconciled (confession, repentance, forgiveness) through His Son Jesus Christ
- peace established not by war/violence but by love/sacrifice
- God’s peace abiding within the inner spirit of humanity / eternal
- faith that believes God’s justice and righteousness will ultimately prevail over the evil ways in humanity and dark principalities
Prayer to Receive Salvation & Peace with God
“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will.
I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
(We rejoice with you! We hope you will tell us about your decision to prayer this prayer. We would love to further encourage and equip you in your new life journey with Jesus! Let our office or Pastor Trevor know.)
III. Implication/Application
- How did God speak to you through today’s message?
- What steps will you take to make room for the Prince of Peace to dwell in your life (i.e., forgive others, give God those injustices, love your enemy, etc.)?
- How will you reveal God’s peace toward others in the anxious rush of the Christmas Season?
God bless!
