"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9

"For God was pleased to have ALL HIS FULLNESS dwell in him (Jesus), and through him to RECONCILE to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making PEACE through his BLOOD, SHED ON THE CROSS."
- Colossians 1:19-20

WHY MISSIONS? WHY SHARE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST? IS THIS "SALVATION STUFF" ALL THAT SERIOUS?
If we ask these questions from what we know of God - YES, this is serious. This is how serious. God made a personal visit on this earth through Jesus Christ. Jesus made God's love known by taking away your sins and placing them upon His death so that you may receive His everlasting life and peace with God! AMAZING GRACE!
"For God so loved the world that he gave is one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

ALL THIS MATTERS BECAUSE PEOPLE MATTER TO GOD, WHO LOVES YOU (Romans 5:8)!

PEOPLE OF HOPE BY SHARING THE GOSPEL (Good News of Jesus Christ)
God continues to make his message (appeal) of his great love known through his children in Christ, the Church.
"Outside the cross of Jesus Christ there is no hope in this world. That cross and resurrection at the core of the Gospel is the only hope for humanity. Wherever you go, ask God for wisdom on how to get that Gospel in, even in the toughest situations of life."

NOT SURE IF GOD CALLED ME TO SHARE MY FAITH...
Here's quite a convincing argument from William Booth (founder of the Salvation Army)
"'Not called!' did you say? Not heard the call,' I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face -- whose mercy you have professed to obey -- and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world."

HOW TO SHARE THE GOSPEL?
Invite God to use you based on who you are yet knowing God will also empower you through the Holy Spirit. We see different methods in how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared in the New Testament. Here are some examples you may relate with (listen to the sermon for more details):
-DIRECTLY (e.g. Apostle Peter, Acts 2); through INTELLIGENCE using reason & logic (e.g. Apostle Paul, Acts 17); by a TESTIMONY (e.g. blind man in John 9); with an INTERPERSONAL approach (e.g. Levi the tax-collector hosting a party so all will meet Jesus, Luke 5); with an INVITATIONAL approach (e.g. Andrew inviting his brother Peter, John 1; see also Luke 14); with a HEART TO SERVE (e.g. Tabitha, Acts 9, see also Matthew 5:16); as a TEAM who WITNESSES JESUS'S LOVE by the way they share life and the Gospel as a family.

YOU ARE THE PEOPLE OF HOPE BECAUSE YOU CARRY THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL MESSAGE WITH AND WITHIN YOU!
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the POWER of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteousness will live by faith." - Rom. 1:16-17

"MAY THE GOD OF HOPE FILL YOU WITH ALL JOY AND PEACE IN BELIEVING, SO THAT BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT YOU MAY ABOUND IN HOPE." - Romans 15:13
