"Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." - John 20:21

HAVE YOU EVER ASKED, "WHAT IS GOD UP TO LATELY?" OR, "WHAT IS GOD'S PURPOSE FOR US ON THIS EARTH?

Perhaps these questions aren't as common to ask as we are more focused in just trying to survive with our own daily routines of life. Thankfully we don't have to go too far in understanding the BIG PICTURE in what God is up to.

The Bible is all about God's MISSIONAL PURSUIT with the purpose in bringing us wayward sinners back to himself -reconciled, at peace, and forever in a loving-abiding relationship!

When we go back to Genesis chapters 12-15 we see God making this covenant arrangement with Abram (Abraham) and how he will use Abram as the means to bring blessing to all peoples on the earth. Here's the catch, God reveals how the fulfillment of this covenant will fall solely himself! God alone passes between the pieces of the animals sacrificed making it known (as contextually understood during this era) he too is willing to give up his life

As we fast forward...we know God did in-fact make that sacrifice through his Son Jesus Christ.

-"For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him (Jesus), and through him (Jesus) to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making PEACE through his blood, shed on the cross." Colossians 1:19-20

- "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he committed to us the message of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:17-20

- "If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

The reason Jesus came was to bring RECONCILIATION AND PEACE between us and our Almighty Most Holy God. God's mission from the beginning of time and until Christ returns is to reveal himself to us and to restore all people to a relationship with him.

AS THE FATHER HAS SENT THE SON, THE SON HAS NOW SENT HIS DISCIPLES (followers in Christ) TO CONTINUE SHARING THIS ASTONISHING LOVE OF GOD! SO LET US BE ON MISSION WHEREVER GOD HAS PLACED US. MISSION IS FOR EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME...

ON MISSION WITH YOU,
Pastor Trevor
