INTRODUCTION
Ever question your purpose in life? We might question this especially if we catch ourselves starting to compare with others - their skills, beauty, speech, talents, physical appearances, etc. But regardless of your skin color, regardless of your ethnic background, regardless of your skills, physical appearances and abilities, the intimacy of God's love is that you are fearfully and wonderfully made! God's works are wonderful and your frame is not hidden from God! God thinks about you constantly! Read Psalm 139:1-4, 13-18

God created YOU with PURPOSE and MEANING!

1. Why do you think God created you?
2. Why does life seem so meaningless at times?
3. If you were to describe your greatest strength, what would that be?
4. If you were to describe ONE thing that you hate seeing in this world, what would that be?

CONTEXT FOR JUDGES 6
The Midianites and Amalekites join forces to oppress the Israelites by raiding their crops and destroying their livestock. A farmer named Gideon is in hiding threshing wheat with a winepress. The angel of the LORD makes an appearance to Gideon...

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION

1. Why do you think the angel of the LORD addresses Gideon as a mighty warrior when it appears Gideon is in hiding?

2. In what ways is the enemy of your soul trying to keep you quiet or in hiding from what God is calling you to do?

3. Read Judges 6:34; Zechariah 4:8; Acts 1:8, 2:17. What do these verses reveal? As a Christian who do you have within you to equip and empower you to fulfill the Father's work in you?

4. God positioned Gideon with a Holy purpose - to be a deliverer with only 300 soldiers against an estimated 135,000 against him! The odds were to ensure the Israelites victory was won at God's hand.
Is God positioning you for a Holy Purpose? Does God want to use you in the work place? In Church ministry? At a caring/nursing home? Is God calling upon YOU to make an eternal change in your context?

Additional Notes:
Bill Hybels talks about having a Holy Discontent saying, "what wrecks the heart of someone who loves God is often the 'very thing' God wants to use to fire them up to do something that, under normal circumstances, they would never attempt to do" (resource: Holy Discontent).

IN CONCLUSION
A Christians, we are a chosen people set apart for God's service. 1 Peter 2:9 says we God's very own possession. What are you hiding from or failing to recognize because the enemy has you focusing on your own flaws, frailties, or even failures? Friends, your weaknesses, physical ailments, emotional struggles, even inabilities as you see in yourself DOES NOT determine the fullness of your capabilities and influences when you ALLOW GOD to take a hold of you! May you move faithfully forward in the Spirit's equipping which brings glory to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Living in His Mighty Strength,
Pastor Trevor
